|It’s the end of summer, but this has been anything but lazy days. Record high temperatures and other extreme weather, ICE raids on immigrants, and mass shootings with military-style weapons are a lot to take in, but the Green Party has been taking action and speaking out. Check out how you can get involved in September.
The Green Party of the U.S. and the Green Party of New York have endorsed these events:
Global Climate Strike | September 20-27
NYC Global Climate Strike
Friday, September 20, 12 noon
Foley Square, Manhattan
Greta Thunberg, who just arrived in NYC after traveling from Europe on a sailboat, kicks off a week of international climate action. Thunberg and students around the world call for adults to take a few hours off from work as the students strike from school. Join the Green Party contingent at Foley Square, then march to the Battery! Learn more and RSVP at GPNY.
And if you can’t make it to NYC, join the People of Albany United for Safe Energy (PAUSE), GELF, Food and Water Watch, and others as they unite with students from local high schools and colleges in Albany to hold a march and rally the same day (September 20).
People’s Mobilization to Stop the U.S. War Machine & Save the Planet
Sunday, September 22, 2 pm
Rally at Herald Square, Manhattan
Join Greens from NYC and around the state at this important event. Get more details and RSVP at GPNY.
